A typical manufacturing process makes goods in bulk and warehouses them until they are sold. But Underbunks is at the forefront of a new wave of sustainable, on-demand manufacturing. We don’t make your child’s Underbunk until you order it. This eliminates warehousing and reduces the waste that comes with excess inventory.
Is the printing process green?
Our inks are Bluesign® approved, which means environmentally harmful substances and conditions have been proactively eliminated from the start. A Bluesign® certification means our inks have been screened for: chemical consumption, carbon emission, water consumption, energy consumption, and worker health and safety. And our printers are the most eco-friendly available today, using 14 million fewer gallons of water each year than their conventional counterparts.
Underbunks are handcrafted sustainably in the USA.
What about materials?
Underbunks are printed on 100% natural cotton, grown and milled in the USA. Our framing system is made from an endlessly recyclable loop of lightweight spring steel, and less than 4 ounces of food-grade plastic.
