Frequently Asked Questions
If you can't find the answers you need here, email us at customercare@underbunks.com.
How do I get wrinkles out of the fabric?
The printed cotton may get wrinkles from being folded during shipping and storage. Use a clean spray bottle with fine mist option. Add water. Spray affected areas (wrinkles) on opened Underbunk. Air dry.
Can I wash my Underbunk?
Spot clean only with gentle detergent.

What are Underbunks made of?
Our art is printed on 100% all-natural cotton, grown and milled in the USA, then stretched over a lightweight steel frame that folds in to 21" circle for shipping and storage. For more information, please visit our sustainability page.
How do I install my new Underbunk?
Installation is easy and doesn't require any tools. Watch the video on our installation page.
Do you have art for older kids and teens?
Right now, we are focused on providing the World's Best Storybook Art for kids in the lower bunk (typically aged 3 to 8). Later in 2025, we will expand our library with content for older kids.
Will an Underbunk fit my child's bed?
Am I ordering the right size?
Underbunks are currently offered in one size: twin. If your upper bunk is a full, the product will not cover the slats entirely. If your bunk or loft was a DIY project, or has other features like a built-in desk or chest of drawers, make sure that the open area between the headboard, footboard and side rails measures at least 36"x72".
What if my bed doesn't have wooden slats?
The vast majority of bunk beds have wooden slats, 2 to 3 inches wide. Underbunks are designed to work with this traditional design. Underbunks will also work on beds with metal slats or wire mesh with wide openings. A small percentage of twin bunks support the top mattress in a way that is incompatible with our product (eg: a flat plywood panel; a long center support protruding downwards). If you have any questions about whether or not our product will fit your child’s bed, email us at customercare@underbunks.com.
I'm having trouble securing the corners. What should I do?
The weight of the underbunk itself is supported by the plastic hangers. The corner flaps are held up by pieces of hook-and-loop. Sometimes, the sewn-on hook-and-loop on the product lines-up with a gap instead of a slat. In this case, we reccommend attaching the provided length of adhesive hook-and-loop to a piece of cardboard wider than the gap between the slats. Position the cardboard on top of the slats so the adhesive hook-and-loop appears through the gap. Then, press the corner flap hook-and-loop against the cardboard. (We will be posting a video on this soon on our installation page.)
